COURSE CURRICULUM

Computer Programming diploma program offers a comprehensive, hands-on education designed to prepare students for careers in modern software development. Spanning four academic terms, the program begins with foundational courses such as Operating Systems, Web Programming & Design, Introduction to Databases, Programming Fundamentals, College Writing, and two general education electives, providing students with essential technical and communication skills. In the second term, the curriculum advances into key areas including Object-Oriented Programming with .NET, Advanced Web Applications, User Experience Theory, Advanced Database Design & SQL, Requirements Analysis and Process Modelling, Communications for Technology, and Applied Math for Technology I. Students also have the opportunity to gain real-world experience through an optional co-op placement between the second and third terms. The third term focuses on advanced software development topics such as Design Patterns and Testing, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, OOP with Java, Project Management, ASP.NET, and Software Development & Deployment, along with another elective. In the final term, students dive deeper into specialized areas with Mobile Computing, Computer Networks, Open Source Programming, Systems Security, Data Specialization, Ethics and Law, and complete a Major Project that showcases their cumulative knowledge and skills. Throughout the program, students develop expertise in a wide range of programming languages and tools, including HTML5, JavaScript, C#, Java, SQL, and ASP.NET. Emphasis is placed on Full Stack development, combining both front-end and back-end skills, as well as real-world applications and teamwork.
