Welding Techniques certificate program offers a well-rounded curriculum designed to equip students with essential skills for a successful welding career. The first semester includes courses such as Communications for the Trades, Basic Arc Welding, Blueprint Reading, Pipe to Plate welding, Welding Introduction, Oxy Fuel Welding and Cutting, and T-Joints (Fillet Welds), providing a strong foundation in both practical skills and technical knowledge. These courses combine hands-on training with theoretical instruction, ensuring students gain proficiency in basic welding techniques and understand the principles behind them. In the second semester, students advance their skills through courses like Advanced Welding, Pressure Plate welding, Basic Metallurgy, Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Specifications, and Blueprint Reading II. These classes emphasize specialized welding methods, metallurgy knowledge, and industry standards, preparing students for the technical demands of the profession. The program’s focus on CWB Specifications ensures that graduates are well-prepared for certification, a critical step toward employment in the welding industry. With a total of over 700 instructional hours spread across both semesters, students receive extensive practical and theoretical training. This program combines classroom learning, hands-on shop practice, and industry-relevant standards, giving students the expertise and confidence to succeed in diverse welding roles across various sectors.
