COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Fundamentals program at Confederation College offers a comprehensive introduction to essential business concepts through a carefully structured curriculum designed to build a solid foundation. In the first semester, students begin with courses such as Introduction to Financial Accounting, College Writing, Introduction to Business, Introduction to Human Resources, Business Math, and Introduction to Marketing, along with an elective to broaden their knowledge base. These courses introduce key principles like accounting basics, business operations, marketing fundamentals, human resource management, and essential communication and math skills critical for business success. Moving into the second semester, the program continues to build on these basics with more advanced courses, including Financial Accounting II, Business Communications, Microeconomics, Microsoft Excel, Organizational Behaviour, Financial Math, and Marketing II. This progression allows students to deepen their understanding of financial practices, economic environments, organizational dynamics, and marketing strategies, while enhancing technical skills like Excel proficiency. The balanced curriculum not only equips students with a broad view of the business landscape but also develops practical skills applicable across various industries. Graduates of this one-year program are well-prepared to enter the workforce quickly or pursue further studies in specialized two-year diploma programs such as Marketing, Human Resources, or Accounting.
