COURSE CURRICULUM

The Clinical Research program at Conestoga College provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the competitive clinical research industry. In Level 1, students develop foundational competencies through courses such as Effective Communication in Clinical Research, Good Clinical Practice and Research Ethics, and Introduction to Clinical Research, alongside Clinical Quality Assurance Foundations and Clinical Laboratory Procedures covering microbiology, physiology, and pharmacology. These courses establish essential ethical, regulatory, and procedural knowledge critical for clinical study management. Moving into Level 2, students advance their expertise with specialized courses like Clinical Research Data Management and Biostatistics, Clinical Trial Design and Administration, and Epidemiological Studies Design and Administration, which focus on the scientific and statistical methods used to support clinical trials and research projects. Additionally, courses such as Clinical Research Project Management and Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Research introduce modern management techniques and innovative technologies transforming the field. The program culminates with a Clinical Research Capstone, where students integrate their learning in a practical project, preparing them to enter the workforce with confidence. Career Management courses further support students’ readiness for employment. Together, this curriculum offers a balanced blend of theory, practical skills, and emerging trends to prepare graduates for roles in clinical trial coordination, data analysis, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors.
