COURSE CURRICULUM

The woodworking advanced diploma program offers a comprehensive and progressive curriculum designed to develop both technical skills and management knowledge critical to the industry. In Level 1, students build foundational skills with courses in drafting and blueprint reading, numerical woodworking applications, materials, woodworking techniques, machining practice, and finishing. Level 2 advances these skills through computer drafting, product engineering, CNC woodworking, and more advanced woodworking, machining, and finishing techniques. By Level 3, students engage in product design and development, production equipment and CNC operations, advanced woodworking techniques, finishing, and machining practice, alongside general education electives. Level 4 focuses on architectural product design, entrepreneurship and shop management, architectural techniques, architectural millwork practice, and advanced machining practice, further integrating business and practical expertise. In Level 5, students study computer-integrated manufacturing, effective supervision, workflow analysis, woodworking facilities planning, project application, and product material testing and analysis, enhancing their understanding of production processes and leadership. Finally, Level 6 deepens this knowledge with advanced manufacturing, computer-integrated manufacturing II, workflow analysis II, planning and control systems, quality control, and a capstone project that synthesizes all learned skills into a practical, real-world application. This structured progression ensures graduates are proficient in woodworking techniques, machinery operation, design, production planning, and management, preparing them for diverse roles in the woodworking industry, including cabinetmaking, millwork, and manufacturing environments.
