COURSE CURRICULUM

The Woodworking Technician program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with advanced skills and knowledge in woodworking, furniture, cabinetry, and architectural millwork. In Level 1, students build a strong foundation with courses such as Drafting and Blueprint Reading, Numerical Woodworking Applications, Materials, and introductory practical courses like Woodworking Techniques I, Machining Practice I, and Finishing I. This level establishes essential theoretical and hands-on skills necessary for woodworking. Level 2 advances these skills through Computer Drafting, Product Engineering, CNC Woodworking, and continued practice with Woodworking Techniques II, Finishing II, and Machining Practice II, enabling students to become proficient with computer-aided design and modern machining methods. In Level 3, the focus shifts to more complex tasks with Product Design and Development, Production Equipment and CNC, as well as Woodworking Techniques III, Finishing III, and Machining Practice III. These courses deepen students’ technical abilities and prepare them for real-world woodworking challenges. Finally, Level 4 emphasizes architectural applications and business acumen with courses like Architectural Product Design, Entrepreneurship and Shop Management, Architectural Techniques, and Architectural Millwork Practice, alongside Machining Practice IV. This final stage equips students with both specialized craftsmanship and practical business skills needed to succeed in the woodworking industry. Throughout the program, students must also complete electives in general education to support well-rounded development. By integrating theory, technology, and hands-on learning across all four levels, this program thoroughly prepares graduates to excel as skilled woodworking technicians, ready to enter the workforce or advance in the industry.
