COURSE CURRICULUM

The Software Engineering Technician program offers a comprehensive curriculum over four levels, designed to build a strong foundation in software development and related technologies. In Level 1, students focus on fundamental skills such as programming concepts, web foundations, and database basics, alongside core courses like technology infrastructure and mathematics for information technology, preparing them for more advanced studies. Level 2 delves deeper into software engineering fundamentals, web design and development, operating systems, and the C programming language, while also emphasizing workplace behaviors to prepare students for professional environments. At Level 3, the program advances into object-oriented programming, advanced SQL, data structures, and system programming, equipping students with critical programming and system-level skills. Students also complete a general education elective to enhance their broader knowledge base. The final Level 4 builds expertise in specialized areas such as Windows network programming, NoSQL databases, application security, microprocessors and embedded systems, and software quality, providing students with advanced technical capabilities. This level also includes a general education elective to round out their education.
