COURSE CURRICULUM

The Esports and Events Media Production program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the skills needed to excel in the rapidly evolving hybrid events industry. In Level 1, students build a foundation with courses such as Media Tools and Technology I, Introduction to Audio and Video Editing, Social Media and Digital Marketing, Introduction to Esports, and Event Logistics 1, alongside essential academic skills like College Reading & Writing Across Contexts and Conestoga 101. Level 2 advances their knowledge through courses focusing on The Business of Esports, Media Tools and Technology II, Event Marketing, Event Logistics 2, Event Planning, and Streaming and Hybrid Events. These courses develop both technical proficiency and an understanding of event promotion and execution in hybrid environments. At Level 3, students engage in more specialized and practical subjects including Network Administration, Motion Graphics and Digital Content Creation, Multi-camera Productions, Event Logistics 3, and Esports Event Production. This hands-on training prepares them for managing complex live events and esports productions. Finally, Level 4 emphasizes advanced production skills and real-world application through Multi-screen Image Production and an Event Capstone project, coupled with Event Logistics 4 to round out their event coordination expertise. Throughout the program, students must also complete general education electives to broaden their critical thinking and communication skills. The integration of esports technologies, media production, and event management in this program prepares graduates to confidently produce engaging, seamless hybrid events that meet the expectations of diverse audiences in today’s digital age.
