COURSE CURRICULUM

The Plumbing Techniques program at Conestoga College provides comprehensive training across two levels to prepare students for a successful career in the plumbing trade. In Level 1, students develop essential skills through courses such as Computer Applications, Plumbing Theory and Practice, Plumbing Prints, Math I for Plumbing, Welding, and Conestoga 101, which introduces them to college life and success strategies. These courses focus on the fundamentals of plumbing tools, materials, and systems, as well as interpreting plumbing prints and applying math concepts relevant to the trade. In Level 2, students deepen their knowledge with advanced courses including Plumbing Theory II, Plumbing Practice II, Plumbing Code, Occupational Health and Safety specific to plumbing, Math II for Plumbing, and College Reading & Writing Across Contexts, which enhances communication skills critical for the workplace. This progression equips students with the theoretical background and hands-on experience necessary to understand plumbing regulations, codes, and safe work practices. The program is designed to support students in pursuing an apprenticeship or entering the workforce directly, addressing the high demand for skilled plumbers in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Graduates emerge well-prepared to contribute to the construction industry and ensure safe water and waste management systems, making this a valuable and rewarding career path.
