COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical Techniques program offers a comprehensive curriculum spread over two levels, designed to equip students with the foundational skills necessary for a successful career in the electrical trades. In Level 1, students build essential knowledge in electrical fundamentals, focusing on residential prints and standards, installation practices, and applied electrical trade math. Courses such as College Reading & Writing Across Contexts and Conestoga 101 support students in developing effective communication and foundational college skills. Practical learning is emphasized through hands-on training in residential electrical installation and interpretation of blueprints and standards, providing a solid base for real-world applications. Advancing to Level 2, students deepen their expertise with courses covering both residential and commercial prints and standards, advanced electrical fundamentals, and specialized topics like signal and control circuits, electronics, and solid-state controls. Industrial installation techniques are also introduced, preparing students for more complex environments. The curriculum balances theoretical understanding with practical skills, taught by experienced instructors, ensuring students gain the confidence and competence required in the electrical field.
