COURSE CURRICULUM

The Community Pharmacy Assistant program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to succeed in various pharmacy settings. In Level 1, students engage in foundational courses such as Models of Health Care and Medicine, Pharmaceutical Math, Safety in the Workplace, Inventory Management, Pharmacology, Community Pharmacy Practice, and Pharmacy Legislation, alongside general education and communication courses. These courses provide a strong understanding of healthcare systems, medication management, workplace safety, and the legal framework governing pharmacy practice. In Level 2, the program delves deeper into Anatomy and Physiology, Patient Communication, advanced Pharmaceutical Math, Compounding, Clinical Conditions and Medications, Community Pharmacy Dispensing Practice, Over-the-Counter Products, and Professional Practice. This level also includes a valuable field placement and practical simulation, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world environments and develop hands-on skills crucial for supporting pharmacy operations. The program balances theory, practical laboratory work, and experiential learning to prepare graduates to manage inventory, assist with compounding and dispensing, and provide patient support confidently.
