COURSE CURRICULUM

Conestoga’s Business Foundations program offers a comprehensive introduction to core business concepts and practices over two semesters, making it ideal for students who want to build fundamental business knowledge or explore their interests before selecting a specific business specialization. In Level 1, students gain essential skills through courses such as Introduction to Accounting Principles, Introduction to Business, and Marketing I, alongside technical training in Business Computing Applications I and Business Mathematics I. The semester also includes College Reading & Writing Across Contexts to strengthen academic communication skills and Conestoga 101, which supports students' transition into college life. Students also complete a general education elective to broaden their perspective. In Level 2, the program deepens business understanding with Organizational Behaviour, Career Success, and Introduction to Personal Finances, preparing students for both further studies and the workplace. Communication and collaboration are emphasized through Professional Writing Skills for Business and Business Computing Collaboration and Productivity. Additionally, Business Mathematics II builds on prior quantitative knowledge. This well-rounded curriculum provides a strong foundation for students interested in pursuing more advanced business education. Graduates of this program are eligible to transfer directly into the second year of Conestoga’s Business or Business Administration – Management programs, or apply their credits toward other business diploma options for advanced standing. Whether aiming to enter the workforce or continue education, the Business Foundations program equips students with the academic, technical, and professional skills to succeed in today’s dynamic business environment.
