COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Risk, Threat, and Crime Analysis (Honours) program offers a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary curriculum designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for careers in intelligence analysis, crime investigation, and security across various sectors. In the early levels, foundational courses such as Introduction to Criminal Intelligence Analysis, Open Source Intelligence Analysis, Criminology, Criminal Law, Cybercrime, and Programming Concepts provide a strong base in criminal intelligence, legal frameworks, ethical reasoning, and technology. As students progress, they engage in specialized topics including Tactical Intelligence Analysis, Geographic Profiling for Business and Public Safety, Organized Crime Network Analysis, and Strategic Intelligence Analysis. Practical experiences are emphasized through a Field Placement and paid co-op work term, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. Complementing these are courses in Business Intelligence, Internal Auditing and Risk Management, Digital and Cryptocurrency Economy, Privacy and Human Rights, and Principled Leadership, which broaden students’ understanding of the complex environments they will work within. The program culminates in two Capstone Applied Research Projects, where students design, implement, and analyze research that addresses contemporary issues in intelligence and security. Electives and interdisciplinary courses further allow students to tailor their studies to their interests. The program’s integration of research, applied learning, and technical skills prepares graduates for roles such as crime and intelligence analysts, digital evidence managers, and risk management professionals in law enforcement agencies, government bodies, financial institutions, and the private sector, ready to face evolving challenges in threat and crime analysis.
