COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Design program offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary curriculum that spans ten levels, blending creative visual design with entrepreneurship, marketing, and management. In the early levels, students build foundational skills through courses such as Drawing I and II, Colour Theory and Design, Typography I and II, Visual Design, and Photography. These core courses are complemented by studios that emphasize hands-on learning and project-based experiences. As students advance, the curriculum broadens to include specialized topics like Digital Design, UX Testing Methodology, Interaction Design, Motion Graphics, and Inclusive Design. Courses such as History of Graphic Design and Design Psychology deepen critical understanding, while others like Branding, Marketing, and Social Media Marketing prepare students for the business aspects of design. The program emphasizes collaboration and group dynamics, supported by electives and interdisciplinary courses, ensuring students gain diverse perspectives. Upper-level courses focus on advanced studio work in Visual and Interaction Design, responsible design practices, media ethics, and law, alongside organizational behaviour and interdisciplinary research projects. Co-op work terms at Levels 7 and 8 provide practical industry experience, enhancing career readiness. The final years culminate in capstone projects, thesis work, and specialized electives in immersive design, design management, professional sales, and new venture development. This well-rounded program equips graduates with the creative, technical, and strategic skills necessary to excel in the evolving design industry while fostering awareness of social responsibility and sustainability.
