COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Computer Science program offers a comprehensive, multi-level curriculum designed to build strong foundational and advanced skills in software development. In Level 1, students begin with core courses such as Software Engineering Fundamentals, Computer Systems Architecture, Programming Principles, and Project I focused on software implementation and unit testing, alongside essential math and communication courses. Level 2 emphasizes teamwork and advanced programming skills through courses like Project II: Team-Based Software Development, Object-Oriented Programming, User Experience Design, Operating Systems and Security Fundamentals, and Data Structures and Algorithms. At Level 3, students prepare for their careers with Co-op and Career Preparation and deepen their technical knowledge in areas such as Introduction to Database Systems, Software Quality I focusing on testing tools and methodologies, Computer Networks, and Systems Analysis and Design, along with Project III covering the Software Development Life Cycle. Level 4 enhances design and technical skills with Project IV: Mobile and Networked Environments, Software Design Techniques, Mobile and Networked Systems, Software Quality II emphasizing user experience evaluation, Advanced Technical Communication, and Probability and Statistics. The program includes a paid Co-op Work Term in Level 5, providing valuable real-world experience. Levels 6 and 7 build on advanced topics including Parallel Computing Techniques, Software Quality III and IV, Software Security, Project V and VI focusing on advanced software development and performance, Enterprise Application Development, and Analysis of Algorithms. Electives in interdisciplinary areas allow students to broaden their expertise, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for successful careers in the evolving field of computer science.
