COURSE CURRICULUM

The program consists of 45 credits over 15 months, including fall, winter, and spring/summer terms. Core courses include Environmental Health Law, Food Hygiene, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Environmental Toxicology, Water Quality, Waste Management, Emergency Response, and Health Promotion. Students complete a 12-week practicum in a public health setting, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. The curriculum emphasizes risk assessment, inspection techniques, and regulatory compliance. Prerequisites include a prior bachelor's degree with specific science courses like biology, chemistry, and statistics. The program integrates classroom learning with hands-on labs and field experiences to develop competencies required for CIPHI certification.
