COURSE CURRICULUM

The concentration requires 27–33 credits, including ECO 101 and 102, PSCI 101 and 102, PSCI 224, POEC 400, one senior-level ECO course (3 credits), and 6–12 credits of additional senior-level ECO or PSCI courses. Beyond this, students must complete ENG 101, 111, or 120; 3 credits from Fine Arts, Philosophy and Religious Studies, or Literature and Languages (including a wide range of disciplines such as ARAB, ENG, MUS, PHIL, REL, SPA, and more); and 6 credits from the Faculty of Science, preferably 3 credits from two different disciplines. AIT 100 is also required. Students may pursue any minor listed in section 10.6, except for Political Science. Recommended electives include IT 101, DRA 252, FR 101/102, FR 211/212, SOC 210, and WRI 300. Although students are guided by specific concentration and minor requirements, personal academic interests should shape course selection. It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of prerequisites, corequisites, and registration regulations and to plan their program accordingly. Refer to section 4.0 of the Concordia University of Edmonton Calendar for registration policies, and section 10.0 for graduation requirements. A sample course sequence is provided, but flexibility is encouraged based on individual needs and course availability. A normal full course load is 30 credits for Fall/Winter, though 9 credits per semester qualify as full-time. Students taking fewer than 15 credits per semester may prioritize highlighted (+) first-year courses to stay on track.
