COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Sustainable Business Practices is a comprehensive 120-credit degree that integrates foundational learning in business, liberal arts, and sciences with advanced studies and a strong emphasis on sustainability. To earn the degree, students must fulfill academic requirements across four key areas. General education requirements total 27 credits and include 3 credits in first-year English, 3 credits in Advanced Professional Communication (COMC 102), 6 credits in Social Sciences, Humanities or Fine Arts, 6 credits in Laboratory Sciences, and 9 credits in non-business electives chosen from Arts or Sciences. Core knowledge requirements add up to 39 credits, spanning both lower- and upper-level courses. These include 3 credits each in Mathematics (such as Algebra, Calculus, or Business Math), Statistics, Computers (covering Applications, Information Systems, or Programming), Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour or General Management, Canadian Business Law, Ethics, Research Methods, and Strategic Management, along with 6 credits in Economics. Business electives make up another 39 credits, with a maximum of 21 credits from lower-level (100-200) courses and a minimum of 18 credits from upper-level (300-400) courses. In addition, students must complete 15 credits specifically related to sustainability, which includes 3 credits in Sustainability Theory and Metrics, 3 credits in Managing Sustainable Operations, and 9 credits dedicated to a Sustainability Capstone Project that integrates knowledge from across the program. This structure allows for both breadth and depth in business education, while ensuring graduates are well-equipped to lead in a world increasingly focused on ethical, sustainable business practices.
