COURSE CURRICULUM

The Nanoscience B.Sc. Honours program requires a total of 20 credits, combining chemistry, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, and science electives to provide a comprehensive understanding of matter at the nanoscale. The core of the program includes 5 credits in chemistry courses such as Enriched General Chemistry I and II, Physical Chemistry I and II, Introduction to Inorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry, Experimental Methods in Nanoscience, and Introduction to Nanotechnology, culminating in a Research Project and Seminar. Students also select 1 credit from advanced chemistry courses like Organic Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry, and another 1 credit from specialized nanoscience topics including Surface Chemistry and Nanostructures, Physical Methods of Nanotechnology, or Macromolecular Nanotechnology. The program incorporates 4 credits in electrical engineering covering Circuits and Signals, Electronics, Electromagnetic Fields and Waves, Integrated Circuit Design, and Nanoscale Technology, with an additional 0.5 credit in advanced electronics. Outside the major CGPA, students complete 2.5 credits in mathematics, including Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, and Probability and Statistics. Physics courses include Introductory Mechanics and Thermodynamics, and Introductory Electromagnetism and Wave Motion. The curriculum is enriched by 2 credits in science at the 2000-level or higher, including at least 0.5 credit outside of chemistry. Additional requirements include a Seminar in Science, 1.5 credits in approved non-science electives, and 1 credit of free electives. This interdisciplinary structure ensures students gain a solid foundation in the scientific principles, experimental techniques, and technological applications of nanoscience, preparing them for careers in emerging nanotechnology fields.
