COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Engineering Bachelor of Engineering program requires a total of 21.0 credits and is structured across four years to provide a comprehensive education in engineering principles and practical skills. In the first year, students complete 4.0 credits including courses like Chemistry for Engineering Students, Programming and Data Management, Circuits and Mechatronics, Statics, Dynamics, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Introductory Electromagnetism and Wave Motion. They must also fulfill the Introduction to Engineering Disciplines requirement through specific non-credit courses and take 0.5 credits each in Complementary Studies Electives and Basic Science Electives. The second year involves 5.0 credits focused on design and analysis of experiments, electrical engineering, graphical design, engineering dynamics, mechanics of solids, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, engineering materials, and advanced mathematics, alongside completion of an Engineering Portfolio. In the third year, students take 5.5 credits including communication skills, engineering economics, dynamics of machinery, advanced mechanics and fluid mechanics, applied thermodynamics, control systems, mathematical methods, machine design, manufacturing principles, and systems simulation. The fourth year consists of 2.0 credits covering professional practice, materials strength and fracture, mechanical systems design, and heat transfer, plus 1.0 credit from either an engineering design or multidisciplinary project, 2.0 credits in advanced-level mechanical and aerospace engineering courses, and 0.5 credits in complementary studies electives. This curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with practical applications, preparing students for professional engineering careers.
