COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering requires a total of 21.0 credits, spread over four years. In the first year, students complete 4.5 credits including courses in chemistry, programming, circuits and mechatronics, statics, dynamics, engineering geoscience, calculus, linear algebra, and electromagnetism. They also must complete the Introduction to Engineering Disciplines series and a 0.5 credit complementary studies elective. The second year involves 5.0 credits with courses covering communication skills, GIS and surveying, engineering mechanics, mechanics of solids, civil engineering materials, design and analysis of experiments, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and multivariable calculus, along with an engineering portfolio requirement. In the third year, students take 5.5 credits in advanced mechanics, structural analysis and design, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, municipal engineering, and engineering economics. The fourth year includes 0.5 credit in complementary studies, 0.5 credit in professional practice, a 1.0 credit design or multidisciplinary project, and 3.0 credits chosen from a wide range of specialized electives such as green building design, foundation engineering, finite element methods, pavement design, traffic engineering, municipal hydraulics, construction management, water resources engineering, and climate change engineering. This program combines theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and design experience to prepare students for professional careers in civil engineering.
