COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cybersecurity stream in the Bachelor of Computer Science Honours program requires a total of 20.0 credits. Of these, 10.0 credits count toward the major CGPA. Core courses totaling 6.5 credits include fundamental computer science topics such as Introduction to Computer Science I and II, Discrete Structures, Systems Programming, Software Engineering, Web Applications, Operating Systems, Database Management, Programming Paradigms, and Algorithm Design and Analysis. In addition, students complete 2.0 credits focusing specifically on cybersecurity-related subjects, including Applied Cryptography and Authentication, Software Structures for User Interfaces, Principles of Computer Networks, and Computer Systems Security. To deepen expertise, 1.5 credits of advanced-level Computer Science courses at the 4000-level are also required.Beyond the major CGPA credits, students must complete 10.0 additional credits. This includes 1.5 credits of mathematics, covering Elementary Calculus I, Linear Algebra, and a higher-level math course. A half-credit in statistical modeling is also required to build analytical skills. Breadth electives contribute 5.0 credits, allowing students to explore diverse academic areas, while 3.0 credits of free electives offer further flexibility in course selection. Overall, the program provides a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals and specialized knowledge in cybersecurity, preparing graduates for careers in securing digital systems and networks against emerging cyber threats.
