COURSE CURRICULUM

The BMus curriculum spans four years, starting with foundational courses in music theory, ear training, and history. Year one includes ensemble participation and private lessons on a primary instrument or voice. In subsequent years, students delve into advanced topics such as counterpoint, orchestration, and music analysis. Electives allow specialization in areas like composition, conducting, or music technology. Performance requirements include recitals and ensemble work, such as choir, orchestra, or jazz bands. Interdisciplinary options include courses in digital music production or ethnomusicology. The program culminates in a capstone project, which could be a recital, composition portfolio, or research thesis. Throughout, students engage in masterclasses and workshops with guest artists. The curriculum is structured to build technical proficiency, theoretical knowledge, and artistic expression, with a total of 20.0 credits required for graduation.
