COURSE CURRICULUM

The BGInS curriculum includes 20.0 credits over four years. Core courses cover introductions to global and international studies, anthropology, economics, geography, history, law, politics, and sociology. Students must complete language requirements (up to advanced levels in one modern language) and an international experience component (study year abroad, international internship, or field placement). Specializations require 4.0-5.0 credits in the chosen field, with options for honours research essays or projects. Electives allow customization, and the program integrates experiential learning. Sample first-year courses include Introduction to Global and International Studies, Ethnography and Globalization, and language courses. Upper years delve into specialized topics like global migration, international law, and global environmental issues, culminating in capstone seminars or theses for honours students.
