COURSE CURRICULUM

The Greek and Roman Studies B.A. Honours program at Carleton University requires a total of 20.0 credits, with 10.0 credits included in the Major CGPA and 10.0 credits outside the major. Students must complete 1.0 credit in either ancient Greek (GREK) or Latin (LATN), establishing a strong foundation in classical languages. Building on this, the program includes 3.0 credits at the 2000-level in courses related to Classics (CLCV), Greek, or Latin, followed by 2.0 credits at the 3000-level or higher to deepen advanced knowledge of ancient languages and cultures. Additionally, students are required to take 1.0 credit at the 4000-level in Classics, Greek, or Latin, ensuring engagement with specialized, upper-year content. To broaden their understanding, students must also complete 3.0 credits of electives within Greek and Roman Studies, which may include courses in CLCV, GREK, LATN, or the first-year seminar FYSM 1106. Outside the major, students complete 8.0 credits in electives unrelated to Greek and Roman Studies, allowing for academic exploration and breadth. The final 2.0 credits are free electives, providing further flexibility to tailor the degree to individual interests.
