COURSE CURRICULUM

The program consists of 60 credits over four terms. Core courses include Foundations of Outdoor Recreation, Outdoor Recreation Field Leadership, Business Management for Recreation, Environmental Stewardship, and Adventure Tourism Operations. Students also take electives in areas like Wilderness First Aid, Risk Management, and Marketing for Tourism. Practical components involve field studies in local parks and wilderness areas, plus a 120-hour work practicum in the industry. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with applied skills, covering topics such as program planning, group dynamics, and sustainable practices. Emphasis is placed on safety protocols, cultural awareness, and ethical outdoor leadership.
