COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Kinesiology curriculum spans 120 credits over four years. In the first year, students take foundational courses such as Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Introduction to Kinesiology, and Academic Writing. Year two builds on this with Biomechanics, Motor Learning and Control, Exercise Physiology, and Statistics for Health Sciences. Third-year courses include Advanced Exercise Prescription, Nutrition for Health and Performance, Research Methods in Kinesiology, and Psychosocial Aspects of Physical Activity. The final year features specialized electives like Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Applied Health Promotion, and a Capstone Project or Practicum. Students must complete breadth requirements in areas like social sciences, humanities, and quantitative reasoning. Practical components include lab work, field placements, and optional certifications in areas like fitness instruction. The program requires a minimum GPA for progression and offers opportunities for directed studies or co-op experiences.
