COURSE CURRICULUM

Capilano University’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a comprehensive 120-credit program designed to equip students with strong academic knowledge and practical business skills. In the first year, students complete 30 credits, including foundational courses such as Introduction to Business, Business Law, Financial Mathematics, Microeconomics, and University Writing, along with electives in accounting and business or breadth areas. The second year builds on this with core subjects like Business Statistics, Marketing, People Management, Macroeconomics, and Advanced Business Writing, plus electives in areas like Presentation Skills or Relationship Selling. Year three focuses on advanced topics such as Leadership, Project Management, Business and Sustainability, and Business and Society, with electives in Entrepreneurship or Small Business Management, and a selection of upper-level business or breadth electives. In the final year, students complete courses in Strategic Management, Managing Change, and a Business Research Project, alongside 21 credits of 300- or 400-level business and breadth electives. To meet CapU's graduation requirement, students must complete at least 24 credits of non-business breadth electives, including at least 3 credits in Culture and Creative Expression. Electives cannot come from specific excluded disciplines such as BFIN, BADM, or certain communication and tourism courses. The program emphasizes applied learning through projects, case studies, and competitions, while also offering flexibility with full- and part-time study options. By the end of the program, graduates are equipped with critical thinking, leadership, and analytical skills essential for diverse careers in business or further graduate studies.
