COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Healthcare Leadership and Innovation program at Cape Breton University follows a structured, multi-term curriculum designed to develop leadership, analytical, and practical skills in healthcare management. In the Fall 2026 term, students begin with foundational courses such as Healthcare Leadership, Healthcare Technology and Innovations, and Healthcare Policy and Ethical Issues, building an understanding of leadership principles and the role of innovation in healthcare systems. During Winter 2027, the program focuses on operational and analytical aspects through courses like Healthcare Management, Healthcare Economics, and Health Research Methods, helping students develop decision-making and research skills. In the Spring/Summer 2027 term, students explore global and quality-focused perspectives with courses including Comparative Healthcare Systems, Healthcare Quality Improvement, and Inclusive Healthcare, emphasizing patient-centered care and system improvement. The final term in Fall 2027 is centered on practical application, where students complete either a Master’s Project or an internship, along with courses such as Organizational Dynamics and Analytics and Modeling. This progression ensures that students gain both theoretical knowledge and real-world experience, preparing them to lead innovation and improve outcomes in modern healthcare environments.
