COURSE CURRICULUM

The economics curriculum at Cape Breton University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of economic theory, policy, and real-world applications at both micro and macro levels. It begins with foundational courses such as Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics, which introduce core concepts like supply and demand, consumer behavior, national income, inflation, unemployment, and fiscal and monetary policy. Quantitative Methods for Economics strengthens analytical and statistical skills required for economic research. Higher-level courses such as International Economics, Public Finance, Industrial Organization, and Investment Theory focus on global trade, government policy, financial systems, and investment analysis.
