COURSE CURRICULUM

The Organization Studies specialization within the MSc in Management program at Brock University provides students with a comprehensive exploration of both micro and macro perspectives in organizational theory and practice. The program begins with two essential research foundation courses—MSCM 5P01 (Research Methodology I) and MSCM 5P02 (Research Methodology II)—which equip students with the methodological tools needed for advanced scholarly inquiry. Core courses include MSCM 5P81 (Micro-Foundations in Organization Studies), focusing on individual and group behavior within organizations, and MSCM 5P82 (Macro-Foundations in Organization Studies), which examines structural, cultural, and institutional dynamics affecting organizations at a broader level. To further tailor their studies, students choose two electives from MSCM 5P83 (Advances in Entrepreneurship Research), MSCM 5P84 (Advances in Human Resources Theory and Practice), or MSCM 5P85 (Theoretical and Methodological Issues in International Management), allowing for deeper engagement with specific organizational contexts and challenges.
