COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Applied Disability Studies (MADS) with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) at Brock University is a five-credit, course-based graduate program designed to provide advanced professional training for those working or aspiring to work in the disability sector. This specialization includes a verified course sequence approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®), meeting the academic requirements for those seeking certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA). Core courses cover foundational and advanced topics such as Theoretical Foundations in Applied Disability Studies (ADST 5P00), Disability from a Socio-cultural Perspective (ADST 5P50), Measurement and Research in ABA (ADST 5P70), Concepts and Principles of Behaviour Analysis (ADST 5P71), and Philosophical Underpinnings of Behaviour Science (ADST 5P72). Students also take courses in Assessment and Intervention (ADST 5P73), Ethics and Professional Conduct (ADST 5P74), and Supervision and Performance Management (ADST 5P75). The program culminates in a professional practice project and presentation (ADST 5P76), which integrates academic knowledge with applied experience. Additionally, students choose one elective from ADST 5V70–5V79 or ADST 5P42. Designed to be completed full-time in two years or part-time in three years, the MADS ABA program offers both flexibility and professional relevance for future behaviour analysts.
