COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Disability Studies with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) at Brock University is a six-credit, research-intensive program designed to be completed full-time over six terms (two years). All students are required to complete a thesis proposal and an original research thesis (ADST 5F60), under faculty supervision. Core coursework includes foundational and specialized topics such as Theoretical Foundations (ADST 5P00), Quantitative Methods (ADST 5P10), Measurement and Research in ABA (ADST 5P70), Concepts and Principles of Behaviour Analysis (ADST 5P71), Philosophical Underpinnings of Behaviour Science (ADST 5P72), ABA Assessment and Intervention (ADST 5P73), Supervision and Performance Management (ADST 5P75), Experimental Analysis of Behaviour (ADST 5P77), and Ethics and Professional Conduct (ADST 5P78). Students must also complete one elective (ADST 5V70–5V79 or ADST 5P42) and a non-credit proseminar (ADST 5N01) in their first year. Practicum experiences are embedded in ADST 5P73 and 5P78, with optional practicum courses (ADST 5P21–5P24) available for students seeking supervised experience hours toward Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA) certification. The program combines academic rigor with applied training, preparing graduates for doctoral studies or professional certification in behaviour analysis.
