COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graduate Diploma in Accountancy (GDAcc) is typically completed in one academic term during the Winter and is structured to meet the advanced educational needs of students progressing toward their CPA designation. To fulfill the diploma requirements, students must complete five half-credit courses that cover key areas of the CPA elective modules. These include MACC 5P21 – Strategic Performance Management, which focuses on performance measurement and strategic decision-making; MACC 5P41 – Advanced Topics in Taxation, which explores complex tax issues relevant to individuals and corporations; MACC 5P71 – Advanced Topics in Assurance, which addresses auditing practices, standards, and professional judgment; MACC 5P91 – Advanced Topics in Corporate Finance, which emphasizes financial decision-making, valuation, and risk management; and MACC 5P99 – Advanced Financial Statement Analysis, which develops students’ ability to critically assess financial reports for strategic insight. Together, these courses provide comprehensive coverage of the CPA elective areas while fostering analytical, technical, and professional skills essential for accounting practice. The program is designed to build on undergraduate knowledge and prepare students for the final stages of the CPA program, specifically Capstone 1 and 2, by delivering an intensive, focused, and rigorous academic experience within a single term.
