COURSE CURRICULUM

The Neuropsychology stream offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary curriculum blending neuroscience, biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and linguistics to understand brain-behavior relationships and cognitive function. In Year 1, foundational courses include biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and neuroscience planning, alongside a humanities credit. Year 2 advances knowledge with brain and behavior foundations, molecular and cell biology, organic chemistry, calculus, physics, statistics, and a half elective credit. Year 3 focuses on neurobiology, behavioral and investigative neurobiology, cognitive neuroscience or human neuropsychology, metabolic biochemistry, psychological research or critical thinking, and electives spanning psychology and linguistics, such as brain and language, cognition, psychopathology, and neurolinguistics. In Year 4, students choose between thesis and library research options, undertaking advanced seminars, honors thesis, or research essays, while completing electives in sensory systems biology, neurobiology of learning and memory, speech and language disorders, advanced directed studies, neural networks, physiology of excitable cells, and neuropsychopharmacology. This stream emphasizes both theoretical and empirical approaches to brain function, development, and disorders, preparing students for careers in clinical neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, speech pathology, and related fields through rigorous training in experimental methods, neuroanatomy, and behavioral science.
