COURSE CURRICULUM

The Neurobiology stream provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates neuroscience, biology, chemistry, physics, and psychology to explore the biological basis of nervous system function and behavior. In Year 1, students establish foundational knowledge with courses in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and an introduction to neuroscience. Year 2 builds on this foundation with advanced topics such as brain and behavior, molecular biology, cell biology, organic chemistry, calculus, and statistics, enhancing students’ understanding of the nervous system at cellular and molecular levels. Year 3 focuses on core neurobiology courses including neurobiology, behavioral neuroscience, investigative neurobiology, cognitive neuroscience or human neuropsychology, and metabolic biochemistry, with additional elective options in genetics, developmental biology, and physiology. In Year 4, students can choose between a thesis or library research option, engaging in advanced research projects, literature reviews, and seminars. Electives include specialized subjects such as neuropsychopharmacology, neural mechanisms, developmental neurobiology, sensory systems, neural networks, physiology of excitable cells, and brain and language. This program equips students with critical analytical and research skills, preparing them for graduate studies and careers in neuroscience, biomedical research, health sciences, and related fields.
