COURSE CURRICULUM

The Health Sciences and Biological Sciences collaborative program offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on the molecular foundations of human health, integrating biology, chemistry, and health sciences. In the first year, students build a strong base with courses in biology, chemistry, health sciences, calculus, and statistics, alongside elective credits. The second year deepens knowledge in molecular biology, cell biology, human physiology, microbiology, organic chemistry, biostatistics, and human anatomy. In the third year, students study advanced topics such as metabolic biochemistry, human endocrinology, pharmacology, biomedical data science, developmental biology, molecular genetics, and medical physics, complemented by humanities and health sciences credits. The final year offers two thesis options: an intensive research-based honours thesis or a library research project, both designed to develop critical thinking and research skills. Students also complete advanced coursework in human pathology, clinical epidemiology, bioinformatics, neurobiology, immunology, and sensory biology, among others, while selecting electives to tailor their studies. This program prepares students for careers in biomedical research, healthcare, and biotechnology by combining rigorous academic training with hands-on research experience and interdisciplinary learning, equipping graduates with the expertise needed to address complex health challenges at the molecular and systemic levels.
