COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biological Sciences Honours BSc program provides a broad and in-depth study of biological concepts and principles, preparing students for advanced research and careers in the life sciences. In the first year, students complete foundational courses in biology, chemistry, calculus, physics, and electives in humanities, social sciences, or technology, along with essential skills in biological sciences. The second year expands on this foundation with courses in molecular biology, cell biology, evolution, and ecology, while offering choices in zoology, plant biology, fungi, or microbiology, complemented by humanities or social sciences credits. In the third year, students focus on advanced biological sciences or biochemistry credits, alongside elective courses, allowing for specialization and exploration of interests within the field. The final year emphasizes upper-level biology courses and electives, enabling students to deepen their knowledge and research skills in specialized areas of biology. This program equips students with a solid understanding of biological systems at multiple levels—from molecular to ecological—while fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and practical laboratory experience. Graduates are well-prepared for graduate studies or careers in research, healthcare, environmental science, biotechnology, and related fields.
