COURSE CURRICULUM

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Medical Sciences at Brock University is designed to prepare students for careers in the health professions through a comprehensive foundation in the human life sciences. This program equips students with the academic background needed for post-graduate education in fields such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, optometry, chiropractic care, physical and occupational therapy, and various allied health professions. In addition to health-focused career preparation, the program also supports pathways into medical research and education. Students are encouraged to take courses in disciplines like Biochemistry, Calculus, English Language and Literature, Organic Chemistry, Philosophy, and Physics, especially if they intend to pursue advanced studies. Early academic planning is essential, as students must research both upper-year course prerequisites and the admission requirements for any professional or graduate programs they are interested in. For those not pursuing the full Honours program, a Bachelor of Science (Pass) in Medical Sciences is available as a 15-credit option. This version follows the same course path as the first three years of the Honours program and is suited for students who wish to complete an undergraduate degree without the research thesis component. Graduation requirements for the BSc (Pass) include a minimum 60 percent average in both major and overall course work.
