COURSE CURRICULUM

The Public Administration concentration in Brock’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program equips students for leadership roles in government, non-profits, and public-sector organizations. To qualify, students must maintain a minimum 70% major average and 60% non-major average. Year 1 focuses on core business disciplines including financial accounting, economics, data analysis, business communication, calculus, and a context credit in Humanities or Sciences. Year 2 builds on this foundation with courses in management accounting, commercial law, entrepreneurship, corporate finance, marketing, organizational behaviour, operations, IT management, and a half elective. In Year 3, students explore international business, marketing management, human resources, and deepen their understanding of the public sector through courses such as POLI 2P99 (Good Governance) and POLI 3P67 (Public Policy and Social Change), alongside electives and the remaining context credit. Year 4 culminates in a strategic perspective through Business Ethics and Business Strategy, and includes in-depth political science courses such as POLI 4P50 (Machinery of Government) and POLI 4P54 (Business-Government Relations). Students also choose 1.5 additional credits from a list of public policy and governance courses, covering topics such as local government, citizen engagement, federalism, and digital policy. This concentration provides a strong interdisciplinary foundation for careers in public administration, policymaking, and civic leadership.
