COURSE CURRICULUM

The Information Systems concentration within the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program prepares students to leverage technology in solving complex business problems and managing organizational systems. To qualify, students must achieve a minimum 70% major average, 60% non-major average, a minimum 70% in ITIS 2P91, and an overall 70% ITIS average. Year 1 lays a foundation in accounting, economics, data analysis, communication, calculus, statistics, and introductory business principles. In Year 2, students study management accounting, commercial law, entrepreneurship, corporate finance, marketing, organizational behaviour, operations management, and management of information systems (ITIS 2P91). Year 3 develops analytical and technical expertise through courses like business ethics, corporate finance, international business, human resource management, marketing management, and database design and management (ITIS 3P98), alongside electives. In Year 4, students gain practical and strategic IT knowledge through advanced courses such as e-business applications (ITIS 4P22) and systems analysis and design (ITIS 4P25), while also completing a capstone in business strategy and additional upper-level ITIS or OPER courses. This concentration equips students with in-demand skills in IT management, database systems, digital business, and systems development, positioning them for careers in business technology, systems analysis, or IT consulting within both private and public sectors.
