COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resource Management concentration within the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program is structured to meet the academic requirements of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation as recognized by the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). Students must complete a series of HRPA-approved courses including financial and management accounting, organizational behaviour, labour relations, human resource management, and specialized topics such as compensation, recruitment, training, and occupational health and safety. In Year 1, students are introduced to business fundamentals, including financial accounting, economics, business communication, data analysis, statistics, calculus, and one context credit. Year 2 expands into areas like management accounting, commercial law, entrepreneurship, marketing, corporate finance, operations, and information systems, with a core focus on organizational behaviour. In Year 3, students develop ethical reasoning, financial acumen, international business awareness, and in-depth understanding of organizational structure and HR management. The final year culminates in a capstone business strategy course and advanced HR-specific electives such as labour relations and other OBHR courses at the 3(alpha)90 level or above. This program equips graduates with theoretical knowledge and practical skills aligned with professional standards, preparing them for successful careers in human resources management and for pursuing the CHRP designation.
