COURSE CURRICULUM

The Finance concentration within the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program is designed for students aiming to pursue careers in corporate finance, investment banking, asset management, and related financial services. To qualify, students must maintain a minimum 70 percent major average, a 60 percent non-major average, a minimum 70 percent grade in FNCE 2P91 (Corporate Finance I), and a 70 percent average in all finance courses. In Year 1, students complete core business courses including financial accounting, economics, data analysis, business principles, communication, calculus, statistics, and one Humanities or Sciences context credit. Year 2 builds on this foundation with management accounting, commercial law, econometrics, entrepreneurship, corporate finance, information systems, marketing, organizational behaviour, operations management, and a half elective credit. In Year 3, the focus shifts to higher-level concepts such as financial theory, corporate finance II, business ethics, international business, marketing management, human resource management, the remaining context credit, and one elective. In the final year, students take advanced finance courses including investment analysis and portfolio management, derivatives, business strategy, two additional 400-level finance electives, one elective credit, and a half credit from business-related disciplines. This concentration equips students with in-depth analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills essential for success in finance.
