COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting concentration within the Bachelor of Business Administration program requires students to maintain a minimum 70 percent major average, a 60 percent non-major average, and a 70 percent average in key accounting courses such as ACTG 1P91 and ACTG 2P12 or ACTG 1P01 and ACTG 1P02. In the first year, students take foundational courses including Introduction to Financial Accounting, Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Data Analysis and Business Modelling, Principles of Business, Business Communication, Calculus with Applications, Practical Statistics, and one Humanities or Sciences credit. The second year focuses on courses like Introduction to Management Accounting, Commercial Law, Business Econometrics, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Finance I, Management of Information Systems, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, Operations Management, and a half elective credit. In the third year, students deepen their knowledge with Cost and Managerial Accounting, Accounting for External Reporting I and II, Accounting Information Systems, Corporate Finance II, Business Ethics, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, and an additional Humanities or Sciences credit if not taken in Year 1. The final year emphasizes advanced accounting topics such as Assurance I, Tax Strategies for Planning and Decision Making, International Business, and Business Strategy, preparing students for professional careers in accounting and related fields.
