COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Sport Management program at Brock University offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for diverse careers in the sport industry. In Year 1, students take foundational courses such as Introduction to Sport Management, Understanding Sport Industry Sectors, Diversity and Inclusion in Sport Management, Professional Engagement for the Sport Industry, and Foundations of Research in Sport Management, along with two and a half elective credits. Year 2 delves deeper into the field with courses on Governance and Policy in Sport, Sport and Organizational Theory, Sport and Organizational Behaviour, Financing Sport, Sport Marketing, Sport and Social Responsibility, and Sport Law, plus one and a half elective credits. Year 3 emphasizes analytical and managerial skills with courses in Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis for Sport Management, Sport Event Management, Managing Human Resources in Sport Organizations, and Financial Management of Sport, alongside two and a half elective credits. In the final year, students complete one advanced credit numbered between 390 and 499 and two credits numbered between 400 and 499 in Sport Management, plus two elective credits. This structure integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing graduates to excel in various roles across private, public, and non-profit sectors in the global sport industry.
