COURSE CURRICULUM

The Psychology (BA) with Major program at Brock's Main Campus provides a comprehensive exploration of human behaviour through both foundational and advanced coursework. In Year 1, students take PSYC 1F90 (Foundations of Psychology), along with a Humanities context credit, a Sciences context credit, and two electives. Year 2 emphasizes research and career preparation with PSYC 2F23 (Statistics and Research Design), PSYC 2P01 (Roadmap to Careers), and courses such as PSYC 2P25 (Personality and Individual Differences) or PSYC 2P30 (Social Psychology). Students also select from PSYC 2P20 (Cognition), PSYC 2P36 (Foundations of Brain and Behaviour), or PSYC 2P49 (Perception), in addition to other mid-level psychology and elective courses. In Year 3, students refine analytical and critical thinking skills through PSYC 3P30 and complete upper-year PSYC courses, expanding their theoretical and applied understanding of psychology, while also choosing two electives. Year 4 deepens specialization, requiring advanced PSYC credits, including PSYC 4P07 (Leveraging a Psychology Degree to Follow Your Career Path), which supports students in connecting their academic experiences to future goals. Through structured learning and elective flexibility, the program equips students with research, analytical, and communication skills, preparing them for graduate studies or diverse careers in mental health, education, social services, and beyond.
