COURSE CURRICULUM

Bachelor of Music program offers a structured four-year curriculum designed to develop both musicianship and academic skills. In Year 1, students take foundational courses such as Technology Fundamentals for Musicians, Music in Global Cultures, Materials of Music I and II, and Integrated Musicianship I and II. They also complete two credits from language, sciences, or social sciences contexts, and participate in one of the university’s vocal ensembles like Brock Community Choir, Sora Singers, or University Singers. In Year 2, students deepen their knowledge with courses in Western Music history from Hildegard to Beyoncé, advanced Materials of Music III and IV, along with completing remaining language, sciences, or social sciences credits, one half MUSI credit, an elective, and continued ensemble participation. Year 3 focuses on specialized musical study with two MUSI credits, including at least one numbered 300-level or above, complemented by two elective credits. The final year emphasizes advanced musicianship, requiring one MUSI credit plus two MUSI credits at the 300-level or higher, alongside two elective credits. This program balances theory, history, performance, and musicianship, offering students a rich and comprehensive music education aligned with their professional and artistic goals.
