COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1 of the History program, students complete one Sciences context credit, one Social Sciences context credit, and two elective credits, alongside one History credit chosen from a variety of engaging courses such as World History since 1914, the impact of disasters on societies, global history and fashion since 1750, early North American history, climate change history, modern global history, and the history of sports in the United States. During Years 2 and 3, students take six History credits numbered from 1(alpha)90 to 3(alpha)99, allowing them to explore a broad range of historical topics while also completing four elective credits to broaden their academic experience. In the final year, students deepen their expertise by completing one general History credit, one advanced History credit numbered 3(alpha)90 or above, and two specialized credits numbered 4(alpha)00 to 4(alpha)99, designed to provide in-depth study in specific areas of history. Additionally, students complete one elective credit in Year 4. This structure ensures a balanced and comprehensive study of history, combining broad foundational knowledge with focused, advanced research opportunities, while maintaining flexibility through elective courses. This well-rounded approach prepares students for diverse career paths or further academic pursuits, equipping them with critical analytical and research skills essential for understanding past and present societies.
