COURSE CURRICULUM

The Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice program spans four years and offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary curriculum combining psychology, child and youth studies, political science, and forensic analysis. In Year 1, students begin with foundational courses such as Foundations of Psychology, Introduction to Child and Youth Studies, and a politics credit, alongside humanities and sciences context credits. Year 2 deepens this knowledge with courses like Childhood, Youth and Society, Canadian Government and Politics, Transdisciplinary Study of Aggression and Crime, and Mental Health and Forensic Psychology, complemented by qualitative and quantitative methods. Year 3 includes specialized courses such as Forensic Psychology, Law and Politics, and Children, Youth and the Law, while offering electives and topics like Applied Social Psychology and Human Evolutionary Psychology. In the final year, students explore advanced subjects such as Psychology of Violent Predators, Youth, Mental Health, and the Law, and The Canadian Correctional System through a field course. Additional options include courses on Developmental Psychopathology, Psychology of Prejudice and Discrimination, and various law and policy-focused topics.
