COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1 of the Economics program, students take foundational courses including Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Practical Statistics, and a mathematics course chosen from Introductory Mathematics for Economics, Calculus Concepts I, Applied Calculus I, or Calculus With Applications, along with one Humanities and one Sciences context credit, plus an elective. In Year 2, the focus shifts to Intermediate Microeconomics I, Intermediate Macroeconomics I, Foundations of Economic Analysis, and Introduction to Econometrics, complemented by one additional Economics credit and two elective credits. Year 3 deepens the study with Research Methods in Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics II, Intermediate Macroeconomics II, Econometrics, and Mathematical Methods in Economics, along with one Economics credit numbered 2(alpha)90 or higher and one and a half elective credits. The final year includes Advanced Macroeconomics, Advanced Microeconomics, and several upper-level Economics credits, with the choice of one empirical methods course such as Microeconometrics, Machine Learning in Economics and Business, or Time Series analysis. Throughout the program, students gain a strong theoretical and quantitative foundation in economics, preparing them for diverse careers or graduate studies by developing critical analytical and empirical skills applicable across economic fields.
